Advance Tapes International Limited was founded in 1964 and has always been a specialist adhesive tape manufacturer. The founding directors and their workforce quickly built up an excellent reputation for their products and service and were winning awards for export by the end of the 1960s

Throughout the 1970's and 80's, Advance Tapes pioneered the use of specially manufactured types of fabric for cloth tapes.

In 1971 Advance Tapes France was formed with the opening of a sales and distribution centre at Meaux near Paris. This was followed in 1975 by the formation of Advance Tapes Deutschland GmbH and a further mainland European sales and distribution centre was opened at Kornwestheim near Stuttgart in Southern Germany.

In 1986 Advance Tapes became the first tape company to gain BS5750 accreditation.

During the 1990's, Advance Tapes completed the build of a customised production facility for electrical insulation and protection tapes. Today, Advance Tapes manufactures cloth, PVC, foil, double-sided and polyethylene tapes in the UK at two sites in Leicester. Advance built on its pursuit of excellence by achieving the ISO9001 standard in 2004.
