Polyisobutylene

In general polyisobutylene tapes:

  • Have good water, ozone and sunlight resistance
  • Are very conformable and leave no adhesive residue
  • Protect against corrosion
  • Have excellent high voltage resistance
  • Will self amalgmate and quickly fuse into a solid mass
  • Are halogen free

AT87 Polyisobutylene Self Amalgamating Tape

  • 0.5mm thickness
  • 17 kV/mm breakdown voltage
  • Resistant to a wide range of chemicals including, alkalis, hydraulic fluids and vegetable oils
  • Water, ozone and uv resistant
  • Good voltage resistance
  • Easy unwind
  • Good high and low temperature resistance
Applications
  • Insulation and waterproofing of electrical connections
  • Sealing satellite dish cabling
  • Temporary and emergency repair of plumbing joints
  • Protection against rope chafing on ships
  • Insulation of joints and terminations of high voltage power and distribution cable systems
  • Acts as an excellent water tight seal in many joining applications
